Chris Weitz Rallies for 'His Girl' Kristen in the MTV Movie Awards

Eigenes Fenster

Kristen has faced her share of vampires over the course of two "Twilight" movies. Zoe Saldana waged an epic battle to win back Pandora in "Avatar." The two ladies will show down on Sunday night in the Best Female Performance category of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards (also nominated is Emma Watson, Amanda Seyfried and Sandra Bullock).
With five nominations each, the night is shaping up to be a "New Moon"/"Avatar" fight to the finish. "New Moon" director Chris Weitz knows who he's rooting for. Spoiler alert: it's exactly who you think.

"Kristen is my girl, and I think that she should win," he told MTV News. "She's a fantastic actress."

Chris' endorsement of Kristen comes as no surprise, since he has been very vocal about praising his young "New Moon" stars. But instead of ballots to decide the winner, Chris said he's hoping for another kind of contest. "Maybe they should resolve it with kind of an MMA [mixed martial arts] thing."

Zoe's no stranger to action movies, so we're sure she'd be a pro at mixed martial arts. But what about Kristen? Chris said he thinks she's got more fight in her than you'd expect. He'd love to see the two ladies throw down.

"Kristen's scrappy," he said. "She's wiry. She's scrappy."

Kristen and Taylor's Rome Event on June 17 Will Be Streamed Live

HollywoodNews Via its web site today, comingsoon.it announced that it will be streaming live footage from a fan event linked to Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner’s 6/17 appearance in Rome. The event (put on by Eagle Pictures) is part of the Italian leg of the stars’ European “Eclipse” promo tour, and will be attended in person by some 1,700 local fans.

At the event, Kristen and Taylor will ask questions about their experiences shooting the Twilight films, and fans will see a 10-minute long preview of “Eclipse”, which opens on June 30 in Italy. For attending fans, big-screen showings of “Twilight” and “New Moon” will also be offered.

So, what if you don’t speak Italian? Good question. Since the event is primarily targeted to Italian fans wishing to participate in the event, Anglophones may be out of luck. Though, it is likely that, on a live feed, the stars may first be heard answering questions in English before said responses are translated for local fans. In the past, some video taken at promo tours outside of the U.S. has been subtitled in English after the fact. Let’s hope that, in this case, comingsoon.it ultimately shares the event with the rest of the Twilight fan world.

Cutting Kristen Some Slack

Hollywood.com -Laremy Legel

We Should Cut Kristen Some Slack.

Earlier in the week, when pondering the nature of photo shoots, Kristen Stewart was quoted as saying:
"The photos are so ... I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can't handle it."

This is, at the very least, an insensitive statement. But let's consider the context here. Kristen Stewart is 20, and she's been in the public eye since she was twelve. Think of the mistakes you made at 20. Now think of doing a couple hundred hours of press a year. How many strange things would you say? If you were constantly asked the same question, how long would it take you to get tired and start throwing out some nonsense?

Yes, it's true that K-Stew doesn't love being in the public eye, but it's pretty strange that our culture thinks lesser of her for that. What if Ms. Stewart just wants to act, to create? Why should knowing how to give a bland interview have anything to do with that process? Detractors will point out that by accepting the role of Bella Swan she gave up any hope of a non-celebrity life. But she made that call when she couldn't even legally vote! Stewart is an honest person, and as such she can't fake "wanting" to participate in interviews and photo shoots. But instead of commending her for that fairly logical stance we trot her out to face the discomfort again and again. The issue isn't with Stewart. It's with our culture's constant craving for celebrity controversy.

David Slade's Note to the Fans

Dear fans of The Twilight Saga,

I want to congratulate you for reaching over 6 million fans on The Twilight Saga Facebook page.

It's hard to fathom that it was just over one year ago that I started constructing this third and epic adventure which takes place in the town of Forks.

I want to share a story about one of our days of shooting with you.
It was a Friday night and the rain was relentless. We were at La Push to shoot the tribe's histories, a great speech by Billy Black. We had Taylor and Kristen and the whole wolf pack around a campfire as the heavens let loose on us.

Gil Birmingham was in fine form as the rain hammered down on us all, we adjusted our lights so that the rain vanished into the black of night.
We constructed a tent over the scene to keep everyone dry as we worked, every 15 minutes or so we would have to tip it to stop the collecting rain from splitting the fabric.

For some reason still unknown, around 3am, the wolf pack stood exactly in the way of several gallons of rainwater as it was being cleared. Being the wolf pack, they just laughed it off as they stood there soaked to the bone.
We worked through the mud and the rain all night, until we had the scene perfected.

As we left, dawn was now cracking and in the dim light I passed a small army of fans who had braved the weather for the entire night, still standing there, holding drenched flowers and waiting to get a glimpse of our actors.

So, to those of you who stood behind our security, who waited in line at theatres overnight, to those of you who just love these stories, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is a love letter to you.

Each day I felt the weight of your favourite scenes, your favourite lines, your dreams and your imagination.

It has been an unforgettable journey, and now as I finalise the last prints to ready the film for your local theaters, I cannot wait for you to see it.

Sincerest Regards,

DAVID SLADE

Kristen's Favorite Eclipse Scene

Kristen Stewart has revealed to Korean press that her ‘favorite’ scene in Eclipse was a kiss with Taylor Lautner.

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were in Korea for the premiere of Eclipse on June 3.

When speaking on her favorite scenes, Stewart revealed. “It’s the scene where Jacob and Bella kiss for real on the mountain top before the big battle,”

“It was a line she finally crossed and Bella finally surprised herself. Bella is kind of a control freak, and she finally thought she made a mistake but was okay with it.

“The scene right afterwards where she has to go face Edward and talk about it because he’s heard everything that’s happened.”

Kristen Apologizes For Comment About Paparazzi

KStew released a statement today to People magazine for a comment she made regarding the paprazzi. Here is the story from people.com:

"No sooner did excerpts from July's British Elle make their way to the Internet on Wednesday than the blogosphere exploded in outrage.

In an offending quote, Twilight saga star Kristen Stewart compared paparazzi photos of herself to images of a woman being raped. Almost immediately, everyone from fans to spokespeople for rape victims' advocacy organizations were publicly criticizing the actress.

"I really made an enormous mistake – clearly and obviously," Stewart, currently in Korea to promote the new installment of the Twilight series Eclipse, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "And I'm really sorry about my choice of words."

But in this instance, the Los Angeles-born actress feels compelled to address the situation. " 'Violated' definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought," she notes.

In fact, the issue of violence against women is one that has been close to Stewart since playing a victim of rape in the 2004 film Speak. She has done public service announcements for the advocacy group RAINN and for SOC.

The irony of the situation in which Stewart now finds herself is not lost on the actress. "People thinking that I'm insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake."
